David made his way slowly up the steps and unlocked the door to the flat, stepping inside and hearing Erin and Olive giggling and talking in the livingroom. He had to smile. Erin had taken quite well to being the babysitter for Olive when both himself and Catherine had to go out. He was dead tired. Partly from the lack of sleep he had gotten the previous night and partly from the early hour he had to be up for work. Today had really been the most basic of filming, just a couple of scenes to get things rolling so he could figure out the best shooting schedule.
He came into the livingroom to see the girls sitting on the couch watching a movie together. They both looked up when he came into the room and Erin smiled and said a quiet hello while Olive got off the couch and threw herself at him. He lifted her up into his arms, hugging her close as he carried her back over and sat down beside them on the couch. “How was your day girls?” he asked with a smile at Erin, knowing that she would answer with what he actually wanted to know rather than rehashing every second of their day together. He spent the next little while catching up with Erin and finished watching the movie with them before Olive got bored and headed to her room to play and Erin did the same, closing herself into her room and turning on her music, which he could hear through the closed door. He rolled his eyes and was about to go and tell her to turn it down just a bit when he heard the door shut quietly and then the sound of keys being dropped to the table in the hall.
David got up from the couch and headed out toward the hall, leaning against the doorframe as he watched Catherine putting her stuff away before turning around. “Hi” he smiled at her. “How was your morning?” he pushed up off the wall and went over to where she was standing, pressing his lips lightly to hers in greeting.
